Best Answer: Inventor WITH the optional simulation suite is an all around CAD (design) package with FEA stress analysis and motion/dynamics simulation built in. You can create your geometry, and then do basic FEA stress analysis and motion simulation with dynamics if you want. Ansys is an FEA (Analysis) package, they have basic FEA stress packages and much higher end packages to do just about any type of FEA analysis. Normally people create the geometry in a CAD package such as Inventor, Solidworks, Pro/Engineer and then import into an analysis package like Ansys, if they don't already have an analysis option with their CAD software, or need to do more complex analysis. • Tell us some more • Upload in Progress • Upload failed.
