Revere Model 85 8mm Projector Manual
I assume you haven't put a reel of film onto the projector and looped it through to the back spool. The front spool usually 'freewheels' whilst the film is pulled through the projector and taken up by the motor driven rear spool. It is possible that the friction drive and/or drive belt have deteriorated with age, as the mentioned projector is a rather elderly 'classic' of the dual 8mm series. If in doubt, don't risk your family pictures.

Try the unit with an old piece of film on small spools. Download Gzip.exe For Windows 7. Dec 26, 2014 .
I also have an MR-929. The information that you need is in the 'Stereophonic 4 track stereo'. As stereo is only two tracks, there is another 2 tracks in addition to the one you are listening to. Wind the entire reel to the empty spool, and then play that. As you have to physically turn the reel over to do so, you should then hear the other tracks (or track, if recorded in mono). I use my 929 to play my parents recording of my family from the late 60s, which were recorded on a valve (tube) Ferguson machine, which had a green 'magic eye' level indicator, which as a child I found fascinating!

The website for Polyconcept USA (which made the Reel media center) has been down since 2008, so the company may have gone bankrupt. I found one internet shop that may still have blank reels for sale: www.americanbargain.com/product.asp?productid=7008 2: You can use 1/8' Nagra reels which are still being made, the tape is the same 1/8'(3.175mm) width as the tape used on the Reel Media Center. The Nagra reels have a different hub, so you will need to improvise and make your own hub adapter. I found reels like that on Ebay: Dec 07, 2008 .
